Hello and welcome to RootRock Design sculptures.  Inspired by decades of hiking in the Bay Area, I design my pieces by  

featuring intriguing pieces of wood, carved by nature, attached to a natural stone base.

     Each piece offered for sale here is unique in size, shape and color.  The wood can be from any of the local varieties — Redwood, Pine, Oak, Manzanita or many others — all of which forge their own special beauty.  I choose the stone from an assortment of  Bay Area rock quarries.  I find matching the ideal size, shape and color of stone to the wood very satisfying, as I look to make each piece stand out in terms of its shape, texture and quality.  Finally, choosing the right color and finish completes the process.

                           My goal with these sculptures is to share some of the splendor I’ve experienced in Northern California.                              I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
